DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION

Population

Based on the 2003-projected population, the total population is 36,814. Among the thirty barangays, Obay has the highest populace, followed by Lingasad and Poblacion North, having a population of 3,578, 2,382, and 2,053 respectively. While the barangays has the lowest populace are Maligaya, Dangi and Linabo with 313, 453 and 456 populations respectively.

Population of the municipality increased because of the presence of Victoria Country Homes and Victoria Hills Subdivision, a low cost subdivision, situated at barangay Obay and Pob. Norte, Polanco,  Zamboanga del Norte

Polanco has 116 total numbers of precincts with 19,615 registered voters based on the June 19, 2003 voter’s list of Commission on Elections. Lingasad has the highest number of voters with 1,338, followed by Poblacion North and Poblacion South with 1,135 and 995, respectively.
